Haivision Publishes SRT Open Source Specification - Protocol for Low Latency Video Streaming and File Transfer

SRT联盟, supporting the SRT Open Source Project, announces that Haivision has published a detailed technical overview of the protocol and technology for very low latency streaming (sub-second) over public networks.
SRT is a protocol Haivision created and implemented on their high performance Makito X encoders, 解码器, and Haivision Media Gateway products before making the protocol and technology stack open source and co-founding the SRT联盟 in April 2017.
The 89 page document is titled “Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) Protocol — Technical Overview” is now available for download. It details all aspects of SRT including its origins, 包结构, the sender and receiver operations, packet loss recovery techniques, 握手机制, 定时和延迟, 和加密.
Haivision announced the document’s availability to SRT联盟 members on the alliance’s Slack channel in conjunction with Demuxed 2018 - The Conference for Video Engineers in San Francisco, a venue where the thought leaders in network video applications gather and share visions and ideas and discuss the latest trends in broadcast and streaming.
